Defender Soccer was born in a small soccer shop in Homestead, where founder Gabriel Monjaras grew up surrounded by cleats, uniforms, and community. From organizing leagues and reffing games to imagining custom kits in his notebook, soccer shaped every part of his journey. In 2017, the idea for Defender Soccer was born — and in 2024, it became a brand committed to delivering high-quality, fully customizable kits that let every team tell their story. Because at Defender, you’re not just getting a uniform — you’re getting a voice.

But this isn’t just a story about kits — it’s about roots, resilience, and repping where you come from.

Gabriel didn’t come from a fashion school or corporate sportswear giant. He came from the sidelines, the dusty fields, the early-morning setups, and late-night tear-downs of local leagues. As a first-generation Mexican-American, he saw firsthand how much the game meant to his community — and how rare it was for teams like his to feel seen, respected, and suited up like pros.
